Services provided in the cost of complete maternity care:
Perinatal labs
Standard perinatal labs are included in your complete maternity care. Additional labs may be included or may incur an additional cost that would be discussed and agreed upon. Insurance can be billed for these labs if available.
Continuous labor support and monitoring of baby and mother well-being
Whenever possible, the midwife will arrive at your home within an hour of your calling for her support in active labor. Upon arrival, the midwife will begin monitoring the well-being of both you and your baby to ensure that all is well to proceed with the planned home birth. The midwife will continue to monitor and chart as labor progresses, providing clinical recommendations and support as needed.
Waterbirth
Professional inflatable birth pool rental with a disposable liner is included in the cost of care. Laboring and birthing in the water is encouraged if you would like, as long as no complications arise. The birth team efficiently cleans and removes the pool prior to their departure postpartum.
Comprehensive prenatal care and education
Standard screenings and assessments are provided at every appointment. Appointments are scheduled with ample time for education and answering any questions you may have. These appointments are frequently a family affair, you are welcome to invite whoever you would like to be present for your appointments!
Newborn and immediate postpartum care and education
Throughout the immediate postpartum period, a warm and safe environment is facilitated while the midwife continues to monitor and ensure all is well, discussing and managing any medical needs if they arise. A complete newborn exam is performed along with other clinical assessments. If all is well, the midwife typically departs no sooner than 2-3 hours postpartum, after cleaning up, providing you with a list of postpartum instructions/expectations, and giving direction to call with any concerns.
Limited breastfeeding education and preparation
Lactation is discussed prenatally in order to make a plan and set the client up for success. The midwife may help facilitate the first latch if you would like some help. The midwife will assist and answer lactation questions as she is capable, and refer to an IBCLC or other professional as appropriate.
Follow-up postpartum care up to 6 weeks
Primary care is provided by the midwife for you and your baby up to 6 weeks postpartum as long as all is well/normal. This generally includes visits 24-48 hours after birth, 1 week, 3 weeks, and 6 weeks postpartum. Standard screenings and assessments of your and your baby’s well-being are included. Ample time scheduled for questions and education.
Referrals for care outside the scope of a CPM
The midwife will make referrals to other professionals as needed. The midwife does not provide ultrasounds or vaccinations in care, so those would require a referral and may incur an additional cost.
I am not providing care for planned breech or twin births at this time.
Cost of care
Complete maternity care
The cost of care is $5000. I require a deposit of $500 at the initial appointment and the rest to be paid by 36 weeks gestation. The total can be paid upfront or a payment plan can be created that works for you.
There are no discounts for care available at this time
I invest so much in serving you and try to keep the cost of care in accordance with the value of care. The on-call life is no joke and I also cover the cost of anyone who assists me at your birth. You will find my cost of care similar to others in the community.
